The subject of research is social work as a social phenomenon, which is a kind of model of social assistance that is subject to state policy and national-cultural traditions. The research methodology is based on theoretical explanations of social problems and the context of their solution, the acceptability of the use of specific intervention techniques, the justification of the practical actions of social workers with reference to the regulatory and legal framework. The purpose of the study is to analyze the preventive work of social workers, the legal basis of their activities, as well as to summarize proposals for improving legislation in the social sphere.
