Paton Elektric Welding Institute National Academy of scinces of Ukraine popup.description2  As part of the reporting stage, experiments were analyzed and carried out on the scheme of introducing manganese into the metallurgical bath during the smelting of ingots of titanium alloys by the EHP method. For this, a Ti-Mn system ligature with a 50/50 ratio was prepared on specialized equipment. As a result, 2 ingots with a diameter of d=66mm of titanium alloy were melted by the method of chamber ECP using manganese in its "pure" form and in the form of a ligature of the Ti-Mn system with a ratio of 50/50. Also, as part of the reporting stage, work was carried out to investigate the behavior of manganese in the process of remelting and its distribution in the volume of the obtained ingot of titanium alloy OT4. In the process of remelting, the behavior of manganese was studied with the help of a photo-video camera. The analysis of photo-video materials showed that the presence of manganese (in the form of a ligature or in "pure" form) in pressed electrodes does not affect the stability of the ESP process. No atypical evaporation or boiling was detected. The study of the distribution of manganese in the volume of the obtained ingots of titanium alloy OT4 after the first remelting indicates that the use of ligature leads to an increase in chemical homogeneity.
