The main provisions of the application of structural-parametric synthesis and analysis to the solution of the task of finding rational designs of roll presses are formulated. The hierarchical structure of the decomposition of roll presses has been developed. An organized array of data, structural elements of roll presses has been formed, which allows solving the problems of creating new modifications according to the modular principle. Using the IDEF0 methodology, a structural and functional model of the rolling press design process was developed. Functional and information links between the design stages of roll presses have been established, which implements a comprehensive approach to this process. Implemented approach to parametric design of roll press parts and assemblies. For the first time, using the method of discrete elements, a method of structural-parametric modeling of the process of briquetting of fine-fraction raw materials in the cell of deformation of the roll press was developed. On the example of specific fine-fraction materials used in metallurgy, the relationship between technological and energy parameters of the briquetting process was investigated. Formed and implemented algorithm and tools for structural-parametric synthesis and analysis of roll presses using the method of analysis of hierarchies. The construction of a roll press with a capacity of up to 2 t/h and a force of up to 500kN with a cantilever arrangement of the rolls, which allows you to quickly change the calibration of the pressing surfaces, has been developed.
