The concept and program of the study "Trends of the development of the content of professional training of teachers in the member countries of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development" was developed. 2. A research bibliography has been formed, which corresponds to the structural directions of the research and contains more than 300 sources. 3. The conceptual and categorical apparatus of the research, which contains the following key words, is substantiated: pedagogical education, professional teacher training, content of higher pedagogical education, curriculum. 4. Conceptual ideas and methodological approaches to the development of the content of professional training of teachers in the international scientific and pedagogical discourse are analyzed. It was found that the methodological basis of the study of the outlined problem is the provisions of the scientific theory of knowledge regarding the mutual influence and interdependence of the phenomena of objective reality, the unity of the general and the special, theory and practice, as well as the provisions regarding the socio-economic conditioning of education; system-integral approach to the study of the content of higher pedagogical education at the global and national levels, which involves a holistic study of the target, content, procedural, contextual and effective characteristics of changes in the educational and professional sphere of OECD member countries. Given the multi-conceptuality of the phenomenon "content of professional training of teachers" in the development and interaction with subjects of the educational society, at various stages of scientific research, the integration of systemic, interdisciplinary, holistic, activity, competence, personal, cultural approaches to the study of this phenomenon was used.
