Registration Date 14-01-2024 Organization Ternopil Research Station Institute of Veterinary Medicine of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  It was established that for the development of a preparation based on bacteriophages, it is necessary to use a phagolysate with a titer of 10-7–10-8 BOU/cm3. The introduction of such a number of phages can provide the necessary therapeutic effect in the treatment of diseases caused by S. aureus var. bovis. It was found that the phage SAvB14 bacteriophage has a high lytic activity against mature (72 hours) biofilm bacteria, which makes it possible to use it in chronic staphylococcal infections caused by S. aureus var. bovis. To destroy the biofilm of S. aureus var. bovis, Phage SAvB14 can be used as an independent antibacterial agent or in combination with antibiotics, first introducing the phage and then after 12 hours the antibiotic. Experimental samples of the intracisternal drug "Phagomast" were developed, the active ingredient of which is phage SAvB14 with a titer of at least 10‒7 IU/cm3, which exhibits a high pharmacological and lytic effect against the causative agent of mastitis in cows, S. aureus var. bovis. During 12 months of storage of experimental samples of the drug "Fagomast" at temperatures from +2 to +6 °С, there is no decrease in titer, no change in pH of the medium, and sterility.
