The purpose of the research is to determine aspects of the influence of agrocenoses in experimental crop rotations and permanent crops on their productivity and competitiveness in conditions of unstable moisture. Research methods are long-term field, laboratory-field, vegetative experiments, laboratory (chemical, physico-chemical), mathematical-statistical research. The soil is a typical shallow low-humus chernozem. On typical low-humus chernozems in the subzone of unstable moisture of the Left-berezhny Forest Steppe, the determination of total moisture consumption showed that the highest values were obtained for the cultivation of buckwheat - 418 mm, sunflower - 403-456, and soybean - 356-418 mm. In general, among the studied crops of various rotations, the total moisture consumption for the formation of a unit of dry matter yield was the highest for soybeans - 428-711 m3/t, sunflower - 498-580 and buckwheat - 681 m3/t. Multi-rotational (4–8-field) crop rotations with grain saturation from 57.2 to 100% and the use of intensification means ensured: four-field grain crop rotations under different fertilization systems - harvest from 1 ha of arable land: grains - 5.92–6.83 tons, fodder units – 10.11–11.60, grain units – 7.34–8.43 and digestible protein – 0.80–0.92 tons. Among the investigated models of different rotational crop rotations, the highest profit was provided by the 6-field crop rotation: soybeans–winter wheat–sugar beets–spring barley–corn for grain–buckwheat under the organic-mineral fertilization system, where the profit was UAH 42.91 thousand/ha at the level of profitability 259%.
