Therefore, during the year, the theoretical foundations of the implementation of the scientific support for teaching the Ukrainian language for students of 5-6th grades of general secondary education institutions of Ukraine with teaching in the languages of national minorities in the conditions of the implementation of the multilingual education model were experimentally tested. By interviewing and communicating with teachers of schools teaching the languages of the national minority, the method of teaching the Ukrainian language developed by the department's scientists to students of 5-6 grades of general secondary education institutions teaching the languages of the national minorities was tested and clarified. The results of the study were applied in the process of the formative stage of the pedagogical experiment. The academic staff of the department developed the structure and content of manuals aimed at improving the quality of learning Ukrainian as a second (state) language. As a result, the educational and methodological manual "Methodology of teaching the Ukrainian language to students of grades 5-6 of general secondary education institutions with teaching in the languages of national minorities in the conditions of multilingual education" and the workshop "Practicum on the Ukrainian language for students of grades 5-6" were prepared.
