The features of specialized vehicles for the transportation of dangerous goods are described, their classification and illustration are given. According to the results of the performed critical analysis, it was established that the existing methodical, mathematical and software used to assess the consequences of chemical accidents at various objects has the following significant shortcomings: the nature of the underlying surface, the infiltration of hazardous chemical substances into the soil and the parameters of their area are not taken into account bottling; a mathematical apparatus obtained only empirically is used; insufficiently accurate Gaussian-type models are used to determine the level of atmospheric air pollution; parameters of movement and braking of motor vehicles and depressurization of the damaged tank in the event of an accident are not taken into account; do not allow to calculate the risks of such emergency events and risks to public health. The specified shortcomings significantly limit the possibilities and effectiveness of using this provision to assess the consequences of accidents during the transportation of dangerous substances by road transport. In this regard, to solve this problem, it is necessary to develop new mathematical and software tools that will be better than existing analogues in all main indicators, and will become effective decision-making support tools for the prevention and quick elimination of the consequences of such emergency situations.
