The object of research is the mechanism of defense resources management. The purpose of the work is the scientific and theoretical substantiation of the recommendations aimed at improving the resource provision mechanism for the defense forces to acquire the necessary capabilities. Research methods are based on a complex of general scientific methods, namely: systemic, comparative, analytical, statistical and structural-functional analysis. A scientific-theoretical analysis was carried out and the features of the regulatory and legal framework regulating the functioning of the defense resource management mechanism were identified, the interrelationships were determined and the powers of the components of the resource provision mechanism of the defense forces were distributed. A comparative analysis of the features of the existing defense resource management mechanism was carried out, taking into account international military-technical assistance. A scientific and theoretical analysis of the functioning of the existing system of defense resources management of the defense forces was carried out, and the experience of managing the defense resources of the armies of NATO countries was summarized. The list of indicators and criteria for ensuring the effective functioning of the defense resources management mechanism of the defense forces is justified. Based on the results of the conducted research, recommendations were developed to improve the defense resources management mechanism of the defense forces, taking into account international military-technical assistance and the experience of NATO countries' armies.
