The microbiological processes were investigated and the system of their optimization during the harvesting of succulent fodder was clarified, which includes compliance with the appropriate qualities of the raw materials. It was established that in the raw material that is ensiled, the ratio of crude protein and nitrogen-free extractable substances should be 1:3.4-6.5; raw protein and sugar – 1:more than 0.8, accumulation of hydrogen ions in the medium – up to pH 4.0-4.2. The improved methods of assessing the nutritional value of raw materials in the succulent feeds production include the consideration of neutral detergent fiber and non-structural carbohydrates, which reflects the actual nutritional value of raw materials and manufactured succulent feeds.
