The primary quantitative information was processed using statistical methods of the SPSS package. The sociological concept of the research subject was developed and substantiated. The dynamics of the educational and professional structure of generations, changes in value orientations and patterns of self-identification are identified and described. The older generation is seen by those of the same age as Independence as people with a Soviet mental and behavioral background, insufficiently competent in information technology, while the younger generation is seen as the most pro-European, free in self-realization, immersed in the virtual and digital world (from consumption to employment, use of financial instruments, social networks, etc.) They consider their own generation to be a "transitional", "borderline", "seam" between two historical epochs, using specific examples of generational differences in worldview, ideas about success, employment practices, and family models. As a result of the project, a collective monograph "Peers of Independence. Silhouettes of a Generation in Time and Events" (edited by S. Makeiev, N. Kovalisko. Kyiv: Institute of Sociology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, 2022. 299 p.), 18 articles were published in professional journals, and the researchers presented their findings at scientific conferences and in the media.
