It was shown that the amount of colicin M in extracts of transgenic lettuce and mizuna plants varies from 1.06 to 3.36 μg/ml and these values are significantly higher than the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of purified recombinant colicin M for the tested pathogenic bacterial strains. These results indicate the possibility of using the obtained edible transgenic plants accumulating colicin M as antimicrobial drugs to control the spread of pathogenic E. coli strains. Techniques for transient expression of recombinant proteins in sweet basil (Ocimum basilicum) and duckweed (Lemnaceae) plants were also improved, and a protocol that provides a basis for cryopreservation of duckweed germplasm collections, saving labor for in vitro cultivation and saving reference samples was developed. The presence of a stimulating effect of pre-sowing irradiation of medicinal chamomile seeds of different varieties in the range of doses from 5 to 20 Gy on the accumulation of pharmaceutically valuable secondary metabolites was proven. The obtained dose dependences indicate the possibility of the influence of acute X-ray irradiation of seeds on the increase in the concentration of phenols in medicinal raw materials. A protocol for microclonal reproduction and adaptation to soil conditions of Bletilla plants (B. striata), a medicinal plant with hemostatic properties, was developed. The presence of fibrinogenase activity in B. striata leaf extracts was also confirmed, which is a promising direction for further research. Product Description popup.authors Belokurova Valeriia B.
