Zabolotny of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  The work is devoted to determining the reproductive capacity of bacteriophages in lysates of industrial cultures of E.coli, which allows to reliably and unambiguously identify mass phagolysis, as well as to determine the final concentration (titer) of viral particles in a specific lysate, using the original culture or its isogenic variant as an indicator. Four types of phage lysates, which arose after mass phagolysis of the industrial strain E.coli BL21(DE3) at PJSC "INDAR" in different time periods of 2023, were studied. From these lysates, four isolates were obtained, named by the number and month of occurrence of lysis at the enterprise - 29.04, 22.05, 19.06 and 04.08. Based on the seeding of these phage isolates on lawns of laboratory strains E.coli C600 and E.coli CR63, their preliminary identification was carried out. It was established that among them there are no phages close to the authentic T1 phage, and some of them may be close to T7-like phages. As for the source from which these viruses arise, it cannot be pseudolysogeny of production strains. In this case, a wide series of studies should be conducted to establish the persistence of lytic coliphages in production. Initial studies on inactivation of phages in production using such disinfectants as Chlorantoin (active chlorine), Dezefect (CHAS+aldehyde), Vernedor-Oxy (peroxide compounds) and Dezosept Forte (peracetic acid) have been started.
