It was determined that in order to obtain high-quality products, special technologies of pouring and ESH should be used. A computer simulation of the casting of a long cylindrical ingot weighing about 40 tons was performed. The effect of heating the mold on the solidification process was studied. By means of thermodynamic modeling, the features of the ESR of high-chromium boron-containing steels were investigated, and promising compositions of the fluxes were determined. Experiments were carried out with the ECP of high-chromium boron-containing steel. Metallographic studies of metal samples were performed to determine the effect of remelting. A thermodynamic analysis of phase stability was performed for the Fe-C-B, N-Fe-B, N-B-Al, N-B-Ti, and Fe-O-B ternary subsystems. Recommendations are provided on the implementation of technology for the production of ingots/forgings from steels microalloyed with boron for the needs of power engineering.
