The purpose of the work: creation of methodological recommendations for conducting forensic gemological studies of precious stones and precious stones of organogenic origin (amber and pearls). Research methods: general scientific (comparative analysis, interpretation, induction, synthesis), special methods of gemological research (organoleptic, instrumental, separate methods of mineralogy, petrography, chemistry, geology, biology). Theoretical and practical results: the subject, object, subjects, tasks and methods of research on precious stones and precious stones of organogenic origin (pearls and amber) are defined. Collected and studied scientific, scientific and methodical literature on legal issues of crimes related to mining, production, use and circulation of precious stones and precious stones of organogenic origin. The methods of research of precious stones, precious stones of organogenic formation, their imitations and analogs are defined and substantiated. Experimental and gemological studies of precious stones and precious stones of organogenic origin, both in the unfixed state and as part of goldsmith's products, were carried out.
