Analyzed: – perennial (1970–2020) minimum expenses of the Stokhid; – perennial (1947–2019) mode of maximum runoff of the river Styr (hydropost «Lutsk»); – perennial (1947–2015) hydrological and hydrochemical regime of the river Styr. Found that: – the ecological status of the Pripyat River Valley was classified as «satisfactory» (IKAL – The induction coefficient of anthropogenic loading method), which testifies to the rational but not balanced use of land and water resources; – according to MIR, the water quality of the Pripyat river has a satisfactory environmental condition, the Luha river and Studyánka river – a satisfactory or moderate environmental condition; – the problem of peat fires and burnt peatlands for the Volyn region is very relevant. The method of determining the MIR (macrophytic index of rivers) has been tested. Revealed: 1) that the water is not suitable for drinking water supply and limited to watering farm animals; 2) there are tendencies of reducing nitrate nitrogen concentrations, nitric nitrogen, phosphates, copper and manganese and an increase in zinc and petroleum concentrations in Stir River below Lutsk; 3) the tendency to increase the number of fires and areas of burnt peatlands since 2018 year. Water quality is evaluated for drinking, industrial and agricultural water use, and the Typology of Shatsk Lakes in the area of the water mirror, medium depth and mineralization. Measures for: 1) improve the ecological status in the pool of the water and swamp complexes of the Polissya region, and the quality of surface water of the river Styr Basin; 2) prevention of peat fires.
