Western, in particular, Scandinavian influences on Rus of the 10th–13th centuries, the status of the Galician-Volhynian state and its relations with the Mongols, the phenomenon of the Galician boyarship and its relations with the princes, the "Austrian" foreign policy of the Romanovychi dynasty, various aspects of the stay of Ukrainian territories in the Great Principality of Lithuania. At the same time, in the center of research interests were the problems of Ukrainian statehood, parliamentarism, urbanization and ethno-confessional processes in the Middle Ages (with an emphasis on Galicia and Volhynia), the history of individual Volyn and Galician cities; urban everyday life, court practices in Lviv and Volhynia, as well as in medieval Poland, the activities of noble sejms, noble self-government, military campaigns on Ukrainian lands and the region of Western Europe.
