Registration Date 19-03-2024 Organization Dnipro State Medical University popup.description2  When harmful impurities of a microbiological or chemical nature, suspended in the air or settled on surfaces, come into contact with gaseous hypochlorous acid or its derivatives, they are neutralized due to the oxidative properties of active chlorine, chlorination and transchlorination, which leads to the loss of their pathogenic properties. When inhaled, hypochlorous acid will also exert an antimicrobial and detoxifying effect by the same mechanisms, as well as due to the formation of natural endogenous chloramines, in particular, N-chlorotaurine, in the absence of a toxic effect. This stage of the project was purposed at the development of special devices for the simultaneous synthesis of hypochlorous acid and its administration into the air. For this purpose, the following main tasks were performed: studying the emission of hypochlorous acid in the carrier gas during bubbling of the latter through working solutions of sodium hypochlorite with different parameters and under different technological conditions; design of a device for the simultaneous synthesis of high-purity hypochlorous acid and its administration into the air, and selection of optimal parameters of its operation; synthesis and investigation of the properties of polymer materials with immobilized bromine-active groups, which are planned to be used as filters in disinfection installations.
