The aim was to study the history of the formation of the modern complex of source studies in Ukraine, the patterns and features of their development, as well as a comprehensive disclosure of the theory and practice of their application at the present stage of development of historical science in Ukraine. Within the framework of the research topic, studies were carried out in the field of leading special historical disciplines, their disciplinary status was established and substantiated, and their ability to put forward and solve specific problems of historical science using their own arsenal of methods and procedures was proved. The unique interdisciplinary nature of many of them also allows them to make a significant contribution to solving urgent problems of the social sciences and humanities. The function of special historical disciplines to introduce new types of sources into scientific circulation remains important, which makes it possible to consider some aspects of the history of our nation from a new angle, to expand the research field of scholars, and to enrich the research tools. The results of the research work will be presented for public use in the book depositories of the Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine, in the institutions of the Department of History, Philosophy and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. In addition, the Ukrainian and world community can get acquainted with the developments of the department in open access on the web portal of the Institute of History of Ukraine of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Of particular value will be the latest knowledge about the history of Ukraine in the context of the hybrid war since 2014 and military aggression against Ukraine since February 2022.
