The purpose of research work is to increase the efficiency of grain cleaning. Research tasks: based on the ZOM-1 machine, develop a scheme of a pneumatic sieve grain separator with one air channel; to experimentally investigate the efficiency indicators of air separation; determine the required number of sieves of the block of grain retention in the air channel. Increasing the volume of grain production in Ukrainian farms requires increasing the productivity of grain cleaning equipment, especially during preliminary cleaning, since the timeliness of this type of processing significantly affects the loss of quantitative and qualitative characteristics of grain due to self-heating. The use of traditional methods of improving quality does not lead to the intensification of the process, since the performance of the separator decreases when the feed is reduced; increasing the dimensions of aspiration leads to an increase in the cost of the machine, and an increase in the speed of the air flow negatively affects the clarity of separation - blowing full-fledged grain into waste. The most promising way to improve the efficiency of air separators with an inclined air flow is to create conditions for the artificial delay of the grain pile in the aspiration channel to increase the time the grain material stays in the air flow.
