The purpose of the research is to improve the financial mechanisms of sustainable development of the aviation industry of Ukraine. Research methods: systematic approach, analysis and synthesis, modeling, construction of deterministic and stochastic models, correlation-regression analysis, analysis of financial and integrated reporting. The theoretical and methodological foundations of the sustainable development of the aviation industry of Ukraine in the system of the national economy were systematized, an analytical assessment of the functional components of the model of its financial support was carried out, and the ways of its improvement were substantiated. The concept of the openness of the national economy as an environment for the functioning of aviation enterprises is developed, the components of the openness of the national economy, which are objects of state regulation, are highlighted - foreign trade openness, financial openness, openness of capital markets and functional openness. The financial support of the investment activity of aviation enterprises has been improved based on taking into account the impact of emergency events and martial law on the reproductive processes of a capital nature in the interests of strengthening national security, defense, and the post-war recovery of Ukraine's economy. The definition of investment policy has been improved as a set of measures that determine the main directions of capital investments and financial investments, their concentration in the conditions of special economic zones and priority development territories.
