The climatic data of the current year, the results of geological and geomorphological observations - erosion and accumulation activity of the Dnipro River and its floodplain systems, geology and history of geological development of Kamianystyi Island - are presented. The results of the study of soil cover are presented, namely, a morphological description of the profiles of different soil types and a map of soil distribution within the reserve. The hydromorphological and hydrological features of the location and functional organisation of the Dnipro floodplain water bodies system within the reserve are described. The full composition of the flora and the status of rare and endangered plant species included in international conservation lists of various levels and the Red Data Book of Ukraine are presented. Works on reintroduction of plants are described. An inventory of fauna was carried out, the state of the animal world, namely mammals and birds, and measures for their protection were described. Based on archival materials (from the early 80s to 2020) and the results of new research conducted in 2023, the general species composition of freshwater molluscs in the reserve is presented. The latest data on phytoplankton and zooplankton in the Reserve's water bodies are presented. The results and prospects of scientific research by the Reserve's staff in 2023 are analysed. The peculiarities of the current year in changes in flora and fauna and differences in geological and geomorphological processes in the Reserve's territory related to the powerful spring flood of 2023 are described.
