The purpose of the work is the study of the manipulation potential of lexical units, individual and stylistic markers of comedy, the transfer of English-language composites into Ukrainian, the peculiarities of the translation of newspaper and informational texts from English into Ukrainian, as well as the linguistic and cultural approach to teaching German languages in higher education institutions of Ukraine and EU countries. Study methods and techniques are determined by the object and purpose of collective research, in particular, the following are used: descriptive method, observational elements, idiostylistic analysis, elements of the comparative method, contextual analysis and linguistic translation analysis of the text. Scientific studies on current problems in the field of German studies and translation studies, linguistic didactics contribute to the development and deepening of interlinguistic and intercultural relations between the states of the European space, and therefore, to a more active integration of Ukrainian higher education into the educational sphere of the European Union.
