Тhe object of the research is the processes of monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the activities of scientific institutions. The subject of the research is the theoretical and methodological principles and methodological provisions for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the activities of scientific institutions. The purpose of the research work: to develop a project of methodological support for monitoring the effectiveness of the scientific activity of the institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Research methods – logical analysis and synthesis, generalization of scientific sources of information, grouping, comparison, description, component analysis, graphic method, economic-statistical and multidimensional modeling. The theoretical basis of the concept of "monitoring" was studied, its essence and content were determined. The characteristics of monitoring and evaluation procedures, their interrelationship and differences are analyzed. A project of methodological support for monitoring the effectiveness of the scientific activity of institutions of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine was developed, and the system of indicators. The international experience of evaluating the activity of scientific institutions regarding the financing of the GDR is summarized and retrospectively systematized. The main financing instruments of the GDR are classified and the experience of foreign countries and Ukraine regarding the practical use of these instruments is analyzed. The progress, results and problems of evaluating the activity of scientific institutions of the NAS.
