Research of the stress-strain state of inhomogeneous materials and thin-walled structural elements under the influence of static and dynamic loads, including: statement of tasks; development of linear and nonlinear theories; development of methods, algorithms, programs; solving specific classes of problems for layered materials and shell elements of structures of spherical, cylindrical and conical shapes, weakened by holes and cutouts; analysis of the results and development of recommendations for the creation of engineering methods for calculating materials and structural elements with heterogeneities under static and dynamic load.

The statementis given and the method for numerically solving nonlinear two-dimensional statics problems for thin spherical shells with a curvilinear hole is developed. Based on a series of calculations, regularities in the distribution of displacements, deformations, and stresses around an elliptical hole in a composite spherical shell depending on the orthotropy and nonlinear properties of the material are established.
