The purpose of the work is to develop projects for the degassing of mining areas and recommendations for ensuring the safety of mining operations in the mining and geological conditions of the «Ternivska» and «Zahidno-Donbaska» mines. Research methods - generalization and analysis of results, methods of mathematics. statistics, calculations according to standard methods. As a result of the work, the mining-geological and mining-technical characteristics of the extraction sections of 1045 lavas of the C10b layer and 869 lavas of the C8n layer of the "Zakhidno-Donbaska" mine of PSU "MINE MANAGEMENT «Ternivske» PJSC "DFEK Pavlogradvugillia" were analyzed. The calculation of the expected release of methane within the extraction sites, the air consumption for their ventilation and the required diameters of the degassing gas pipelines was performed. The degassing projects of 1,045 pits of the C10v formation and 869 pits of the C8n formation with ventilation schemes 3-B and 1-M of the "Zakhidno-Donbaska" mine have been developed. The projects of isolated removal of methane from the produced space of 1045 pits and 869 pits with ventilation schemes 3-B and 1-M of the "Zakhidno-Donbaska" mine were approved, subject to the implementation of the developed recommendations for ensuring gas safety. Recommendations have been developed to ensure dust and gas safety during the development of excavation areas of the «Ternivska» and «Zahidno-Donbaska» mines, as well as during dead-end mining of the «Ternivska» and «Zahidno-Donbaska» mines.
