The object of research is the collection of the National Museum of History of Ukraine of the late twentieth - early twenty-first centuries. The purpose of the study is to collect, attribute and systematise new documentary and material materials on the modern history of Ukraine, and to introduce them into scientific circulation. Comprehensive study of the history of independent Ukraine on the basis of the collection of the National Museum of History of Ukraine. Research methods - general scientific methods: logical analysis, generalisation; special historical methods: comparative historical, problematic and chronological, statistical, etc. Results of the research - materials of the modern history of Ukraine, which were discovered in the late twentieth - early twenty-first centuries, were collected, systematised and analysed. A significant amount of source material was introduced into scientific circulation, which allows tracing changes in the military, political, social and sports spheres of Ukraine. The main focus of the study is on collecting materials and studying them on the topic of the Russian-Ukrainian war. The information obtained in 2024 makes it possible to reveal and show important processes in the life of the Ukrainian people. The results of the research are already being used in practical museum activities and can be used to create new generalised and specialised studies on various aspects of the history of modern Ukraine, as well as to prepare training courses in secondary and higher educational institutions of Ukraine.
