The purpose of the work: study of iron exchange and structural and functional features of bone tissue and proliferative and differential processes of hematopoietic elements during bone marrow (BM) recovery at the stages of chemotherapy (ChT) of children with acute leukemia. Research methods are cytological, biochemical, biophysical, immunological, dosimetric, statistical. For the first time, the proliferative and differential processes in hematopoiesis in children with ALL and the structural and functional changes in bone tissue during the recovery of bone tissue at the stages of ChT depending on iron metabolism were evaluated. Iron in the blood serum was increased in a third of the patients in the initial period. During recovery of BM, the number of myelokaryocytes (MKC) was inversely correlated with the level of serum iron (SI) – the higher the content of SI, the lower the number of MKC in the BM. The content of SI was directly correlated with the level of serum ferritin (SF), the variant of ALL and the type of BM restoration. After ChT, there was a direct relationship between SI and SF with the variant of the disease and an inverse relationship with the prognosis of the course, which can serve as a criterion for patient survival. During the recovery of BM, the levels of total protein, creatinine, glycine, and lysine decreased, and the content of oxyproline in the urine and alkaline phosphatase in the blood serum increased. With an excess of iron, urinary excretion of amino acids involved in protein synthesis (oxyproline, alanine, arginine, glutamine, leucine, cystine) increased. Changes in the organic and mineral components of bones were observed. Irradiation doses ((2.13± 0.18) mSv) did not affect the parameters studied. Product Description popup.authors Ivanova Olha M.
