Registration Date 26-01-2025 Organization National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" popup.description1 The goal of the project is to determine the optimal operating conditions of utility companies during power supply restrictions due to energy-saving consumption and the involvement of renewable energy sources. popup.description2  The project is dedicated to developing a methodology for achieving partial energy independence of utilities by improving the energy efficiency of their main energy systems and using low-carbon distributed generation to supply them with electricity. In the course of the development, the main steps will be identified to minimize the dependence of various types of utilities on external non-renewable energy sources. This will include two main areas: the creation of a system based on renewable sources and energy storage to ensure the operation of these institutions, as well as control and minimization of their energy consumption. The first area will include determining the required amount of low-carbon generation based on renewable energy sources and energy storage installed on the territory of the facilities, as well as, if possible, in the communities where they are located, to cover the load of groups of electrical appliances on a priority basis. This area will also include the calculation of the potential reduction in the load on the power grid as a result. The second area of the project is devoted to studying changes in energy consumption of public utilities during power supply restrictions caused by weather events, pandemics, and military operations, forming priority groups of equipment for guaranteed power supply, developing standard energy efficiency measures to reduce energy consumption, and creating algorithms for the power supply management system that will select which groups of appliances to power depending on the existing restrictions and generation.
