Subject of research: methods for assessing occupational risks and planning preventive measures to reduce them, in particular: basic elements of risk assessment, selection of risk assessment methods, approaches to assessing psychosocial risks. Results and their novelty: a theoretical study and justification of occupational risk management methods were conducted, innovative technologies for occupational risk management in the mining and metallurgical complex were analyzed, including those based on analytical data processing and computer modeling of industrial hazards and emergencies. Recommendations were developed for the use of specialized software systems for modeling common hazards associated with fires, explosions, and for modeling production factors taken into account when assessing working conditions. These systems can be used both in production conditions and in the educational process. The use of the results of the work will ensure a reduction in the cost of compensation for workers, the cost of treatment and recovery after accidents, as well as an increase in labor productivity due to safe conditions. Socio-economic efficiency includes improving working conditions and reducing the level of occupational diseases of employees, increasing safety culture, and increasing trust in employers.
