The practice of using diesel engine monitoring systems demonstrates significant advantages of continuous technical supervision of main and auxiliary engines. Particularly important is the timely detection and elimination of fuel system malfunctions, as well as proper adjustment of fuel equipment and the gas distribution mechanism. The effectiveness of this approach is confirmed by the results of diagnostics of the main engine cylinders on vessels of Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company during pre-voyage preparation. Studies have shown that continuous monitoring of operating parameters of marine internal combustion engines, particularly fuel supply and gas distribution indicators, is a key factor in ensuring reliable and trouble-free operation of the vessel's diesel power plant. This comprehensive approach to maintenance enables significant fuel savings, extends maintenance intervals through precise regulation of the fuel system and gas distribution mechanism, reduces operating costs, and increases safety levels. Moreover, the systematic application of calculated efficiency indicators for existing vessels creates opportunities for simultaneous improvement of fleet energy efficiency, reduction of its environmental impact, and optimization of economic performance of the shipping company.
