The object of the study is economic processes at the local level in the context of their interaction with illegal practices and the influence of criminal communities. The purpose of the study is to identify the risks of the influence of criminal communities through the analysis of economic processes; assessment of factors contributing to or hindering the illegal activity of criminal groups in the area; development of recommendations for local authorities and entrepreneurs to reduce risks and prevent the influence of criminal communities. The methodological basis is a set of general methods of scientific knowledge, as well as special methods used in legal science. The results of scientific work can be used: 1) in law enforcement activities of the units of the Department of Strategic Investigations of the National Police of Ukraine; 2) in rule-making activities - to improve the provisions of current legislation and during the preparation and adoption of new normative legal acts, the norms of which are aimed at regulating social relations in order to strengthen the legal system and increase the transparency of economic processes; 3) in the educational process - the provisions of the study can be used in the system of professional training of police officers in institutions of higher education with specific conditions of study, postgraduate education and service training, as well as during the preparation of educational and methodological literature. The conducted research is a completed work in which conceptual provisions were formulated, based on a comprehensive analysis of theoretical developments, provisions of current legislation, the practice of its application, positive foreign experience, aimed at the development of effective strategies to counter the influence of criminal communities on the economy, including the formation of policies in the field of combat with corruption.
