Berezhnoy" popup.description1 Reprocessing the technology of low-cement alumina-chromia castable using new grades of calcium aluminate binder popup.description2  The study object is low-cement alumina-chromia concrete. The purpose is to improve the technology of manufacturing concrete using new grades of alumina calcium binder. The research methods used were chemical, physical, mechanical, petrographic, and X-ray diffraction. The influence of new grades of alumina calcium cements A and B in comparison with high alumina cement grade C on the flowing during vibration of freshly produced concrete mass and its kinetics after 1-6 h, as well as on the main properties of unfired and fired at 1580 ºС vibro-cast samples of these concretes was studied. It was shown that cements of new grades have the same effect on flowing, reaching their maximum value after 1 and 0.5 h at the set minimum values of their moisture content (4.65 and 4.5 %, respectively). The optimal storage time for these concrete masses, during which they are thixotropic and suitable for vibrocasting, was determined. It was found that vibro-cast concrete samples containing cements of new grades are characterized by CCS (after 7 days of hydration curing) that is 20 % higher than the norm for this indicator according to the technical specifications and the basic concrete and 50 % higher strength after firing at 1580 ºС. It was shown that introducing B cement does not lead to a significant increase in property indicators compared to A cement, so the latter is preferred for economic reasons. The technology of concrete containing cement of the new grade A was improved, and the raw material base for its production was expanded. JSC “URIR named after A.S. Berezhnoy” produced and delivered to the domestic market pilot batches of concrete mix with properties that meet the requirements of the technical specifications and coating with properties that meet the customer requirements.
