The work aims to reprocess the technology of vibro-cast crucibles of the AZS70/2 group for melting heat-resistant alloys using coarse-grained high alumina fused or sintered aggregates. The possibility of replacing the filler (fused corundum with tabular alumina in the ratios of 75:25 %, 50:50 %, and 25:75 %) in the vibrocast AZS refractories technology was investigated. It was found that an increase in the content of tabular alumina in the batch leads to a decrease in apparent density and a significant increase in the cold crushing strength of fired samples compared to samples containing a larger amount of fused corundum. The optimal composition of the batch for manufacturing AZS samples with an apparent density of 3.15 g/cm3, open porosity of 14.4 %, and CCS of 190 N/mm2 was determined. The plastic strength of the AZS structure of the optimal composition mass and the masses containing 100 % fused corundum or 100 % tabular alumina as aggregates, depending on their storage time, was studied. It was established that these masses have a similar mechanism of structure formation and are characterized by low plastic strength of the structure up to 24 hours of storage, which indicates their suitability for the technology of vibrocasting products. With an increase in the storage time of the masses from 24 hours, the plastic strength of their structure increases and reaches a maximum after 48—56 hours of storage. The technology of vibro-cast crucibles of the AZS70/2 group for melting heat-resistant alloys was improved and the raw material base for manufacturing products was expanded. JSC “URIR named after A. S. Berezhnoy” manufactured high-refractory products and delivered them to customers. The work will continue in the direction of mastering the reprocessed technology of AZS refractories, further improving the technologies of high-alumina and AZS refractories, and expanding their applications.
