For this purpose, a survey of teachers of educational institutions for the gifted was conducted, the results of which proved that the listed abilities and skills should make up the generalized core of the content of specialized scientific education. On the other hand, based on the study of scientific sources, it was necessary to show that the emphasized abilities and skills correspond to the world guidelines of educational policy in general and the education of the gifted in particular. After that, the problem arose to separate the structural components in each block of the specified abilities and skills. For this purpose, an analysis of relevant scientific sources was carried out, as a result of which each type of abilities and skills was structured accordingly. Structured types of abilities and skills were proposed for consideration by teachers of gifted education institutions, specialists working in the field of personal psychology. As a result, components for each type of abilities and skills that received higher ratings compared to others were selected for further work. Next, the task arose to substantiate the criteria that must be followed in the selection of educational tasks and exercises for the effective development of the selected abilities and skills in the educational process of scientific lyceums or boarding lyceums. For this purpose, an analysis of scientific sources was carried out, a survey of teachers, psychologists, and pedagogues was carried out.
