The subject is the position of VET graduates in the labour market and the possibilities of their professional realisation. The purpose is to form a system of comprehensive monitoring research of the career trajectories of VET graduates. Results: The experience of developed countries in conducting monitoring studies of career paths of VET graduates was analysed, tools were developed and, accordingly, a monitoring study of career paths of VET graduates was conducted for the first time, draft methodological recommendations were developed and approaches to improving the tools for conducting monitoring studies of career paths of VET graduates were developed. The scientific novelty lies in the formation of a system of comprehensive monitoring research and the first developed tools for assessing the position of graduates in the labour market. For the first time, a systematic monitoring study was conducted, which allowed to determine the effectiveness of the content and quality of VET in accordance with the current requirements of the labour market. The practical value of the obtained results is that they can be used by the Directorate of VET of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, local education authorities and administrations of VET institutions to improve the mechanisms of effective functioning of the vocational education system in Ukraine. The developed methodological recommendations are a practical tool for further systematic monitoring of graduates' employment regularly, which will allow to analyse whether the content and quality of vocational education and training align with the current needs of the labour market.
