The relevance of the work is due to the problem of trust in the measurement information obtained for the purpose of state water resources management, as well as monitoring and control of the state of environmental objects. Without properly measured concentrations, it is impossible to reliably assess the chemical and ecological state of water massifs, the degree and volume of pollution, the danger of pollution sources, to create conditions for sustainable, environmentally safe water use, effective reproduction and protection of water resources. Objectives: - to analyze modern European and world practice on methods for determining the content of pollutants in environmental objects and sources of pollution - to adapt the selected EN, ISO and EPA methods to the laboratory conditions of national systems of water resources management, monitoring and control of the environment; to ensure the maximum possible and appropriate universality in terms of measured indicators and objects of control - validate the developed measurement methods and standardize them.
