Research Object: reserve capacities of key functional systems that limit the special performance of qualified athletes. Research methods: analysis of scientific and methodological literature on the research topic; physiological, biomechanical, and biochemical research methods; pedagogical observation, pedagogical testing; ergometry, chronodynamometry; mathematical statistics methods. As a result of the study, a system for monitoring and assessing the special preparedness of qualified athletes of martial arts (using boxing as an example) was developed. An analysis of the performance of national athletes at the Games of the XXIX to XXXIII Olympiads was conducted. The research results on functional reserves and the functional state of athletes are analyzed. Based on the results of experimental research, a relationship was established between load intensity and oxygen consumption at the anaerobic threshold and maximum oxygen uptake. Scientific approaches to assessing the anaerobic threshold (lactate and ventilatory thresholds) were substantiated. The potential of modern biomechanical technologies in sports was explored, including the kinematics of running and the final phase of the approach during long jump execution.
