Paton Elektric Welding Institute National Academy of scinces of Ukraine popup.description1 The purpose of the work is to establish patterns of influence of parameters of laser selective metal cladding on structure formation, geometry and level of mechanical characteristics of obtained volume elements, and development of a set of technological measures for controlled formation of volume elements on thin-walled hull and functional parts of responsible structures. popup.description2  Based on the results of comparative studies of laser selective cladding of 16316 powder on AISI 321 steel samples, the influence of changes in technological parameters on the geometry, structure formation, and mechanical characteristics of three-dimensional structural elements was determined. It is proposed to adhere to the range of values when performing studies on laser selective cladding: specific power 16.0...45.0 kW/cm2 and linear energy 50.0...150 J/m. This made it possible to improve the quality and level of operational and functional properties of the resulting volumetric elements. In particular, the tests performed, namely gravimetric and electrochemical studies; tests for resistance to intercrystalline and pitting corrosion, showed high corrosion resistance of samples of the deposited material compared to the base metal (according to the scale of corrosion resistance, the material belongs to the “Resistant” group) and that the deposited samples are not inferior in resistance to the corresponding values for high-alloy corrosion-resistant steels recommended by the relevant regulatory documents. Based on the results of the research, technological recommendations were developed and tested on prototypes for the use of a set of technological methods of laser selective cladding for the formation of three-dimensional elements on thin-walled body and functional parts of critical structures made of high-alloy corrosion-resistant steels.
