The purpose of the research stage is to develop a methodological approach to assessing the degree of diversification of Ukraine's spatial development and approaches to assessing synergistic effects. The concept of spatial development has been improved; the problems of spatial development of Ukraine in the pre-war, war and post-war periods have been identified; permanent problems of legislative support for the spatial development of Ukraine have been identified; the concept of diversification of spatial development has been developed; a methodological approach to assessing the degree of diversification of the country's spatial development has been developed; criteria for assessing the degree of diversification of the spatial development of countries of the world have been substantiated; a methodological approach to identifying synergistic effects of diversification has been proposed; the relationship between the degree of economic diversification at the level of countries and territories and the level of competitiveness has been determined. Forecast proposals for perspective research directions: development of conceptual principles and models for assessing the synergistic effects of diversifying the country's spatial development and the selection of priority areas of expedient diversification in the post-war period.
