IR SPECTRA, ALBUMIN, CONFORMATIONAL CHANGES, CHEMICAL DRUGS, ONCOLOGICAL DISEASES, CHEMOTHERAPY. Object of study: spectra of thin films - blood smears of patients with cancer receiving chemotherapy treatment. Purpose of work: to develop a method for assessing the interaction of chemotherapeutic drugs with blood proteins of a cancer patient during chemotherapy treatment based on the method of registering spectral indices of blood smears in the mid-IR range, suitable for use in clinical practice. Research methods: analysis of literature data, infrared spectroscopy method, selection of patients for research, statistical methods, use of author's computer programs. The methodological approach based on the author's method of registering blood smear spectra with an assessment of the conformational state of albumin and the method of its interaction with chemotherapeutic agents is as close as possible to the method of assessing the binding of chemotherapeutic agents to blood proteins of a patient with cancer in vivo. Changes in spectral indices in the alpha and beta structures of thin blood films of patients with cancer after administration of a chemotherapeutic agent to the patient indicate the ability of the patients' blood albumin to form bonds and characterize the ability of the protein to bind to the chemotherapeutic agent and deliver it to the site of its action. The absence of changes indicates a violation of the process of implementing the effect of the chemotherapeutic agent and is considered an important factor in reducing the effectiveness of chemotherapy.
