In the course of the study, the main features and characteristic features of migratory movements were identified, taking into account the processes of globalization and modern challenges, in particular, in the conditions of martial law. A well-founded conclusion was made that the assimilation of Ukrainian external migrants with the local population and favorable conditions for work and living on the part of their host country call into question the return of most of them to Ukraine, which may lead to a demographic catastrophe in the future. Priority directions for regulation of migration flows have been developed in conditions of security, political and socio-economic instability. The key measures for leveling the impact of destructive migration factors on the socio-demographic development of the population at the national and subregional level have been identified.
