The purpose of the work is to develop a method for determining the fire extinguishing efficiency of an aerosol for extinguishing fires of hydrocarbon liquids and materials in limited volumes and hard-to-reach places. Research methods are theoretical, analytical and experimental studies. An analysis of the advantages and disadvantages of existing fire extinguishing agents was carried out and their rating and the possibility of application for extinguishing spills of flammable liquids in limited volumes and hard-to-reach places were determined. Methods for determining the fire extinguishing efficiency when extinguishing spills of flammable hydrocarbon liquids were developed. The results, parameters and factors that allow to ensure the conditions for effective extinguishing of hydrocarbon GRs were obtained.
