The aim of the work is to comprehensively study the main trends in the reception of Western ideas in the countries of East, South and Southeast Asia in the period of socio-political transformations, in particular in modern and contemporary times.

Specific examples of the perception of Western ideas in China, Japan, India, Nepal and Vietnam have been studied. It has been shown that the interaction of Western and Eastern thought leads to the formation of unique cultural phenomena and contributes to the development of Asian societies. The results of the research have been tested at scientific conferences and presented in publications in professional journals. The results will be useful for research in the socio-humanitarian sciences, as well as in specialized courses in higher education institutions on the history and culture of the Asia-Pacific countries.
