The actualisation of the sociological dimensions of medicine and the social subjectivity of the patient in the 20th century has been shown. It has been concluded that the development of the patients' social subjectivity contributes to the enrichment of their social and psychophysical experience, increasing their knowledge of the nature of illness and health. It has been shown that that one of the most influential ideological trends of the 20th century was psychoanalysis, which emerged within psychiatry as a unique approach to the treatment of neuroses. Over time, the theoretical positions and attitudes of psychoanalysis have been used in philosophy to explain personal, medical and socio-cultural phenomena.
