The study and investigation of this topic will allow us to comprehend and describe the social transformations and changes that Ukrainian society has undergone after Ukraine gained independence in 1991. The study of the experience of human adaptation to a new social environment is acutely relevant and of general significance for modern humanities. The study of the consequences of economic and political transformations for the social sphere (through the consideration of important dichotomies - a sharp decline in the standard of living of the population as a whole and the emergence of new groups of wealthy citizens, the destruction and decline of the state social security system and new social practices of survival, destruction in the system of monetary circulation, wages and the emergence of new forms and instruments of remuneration for labor (barter, payment in kind), etc.) will be a significant contribution to the conceptual development of the issues of social history. The task of the work is to confirm or refute established hypotheses and historiographical assessments of world and domestic science, to propose new frameworks and paradigms for research into the social sphere of communities that have undergone radical socio-political and economic transformations.
