The subject of the study is the conceptual foundations and prospects for the use of geographic information systems as a tool to support and optimise the processes of regional development and post-war recovery. The purpose of the study is to provide a theoretical substantiation of the conceptual foundations and recommendations for the use of geographic information systems as a tool to support the processes of regional development and post-war reconstruction in Ukraine, as well as to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of strategic planning. The research methods used are general scientific (hypothesis, analysis, synthesis, deduction and comparison) and analytical research methods. Linear methods of socio-ecological and economic assessment, modelling, and accounting methods using basic socio-economic indicators were also used.
