Registration Date 28-07-2025 Organization Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv popup.description1 Development of approaches to controlled synthesis of organic substances with specified properties for the needs of medical chemistry, agrochemistry, materials science, etc. popup.description2 Project goal and objectives: Development of approaches to the controlled synthesis of organic substances with specified properties for the needs of medicinal chemistry, agrochemistry, materials science, etc. To achieve the goal, it is necessary to thoroughly investigate orbitally controlled reactions, establish the influence of various factors on their course. It is necessary to tune the physicochemical properties of the obtained compounds by controlled functionalization. Develop effective preparative methods for the synthesis of target compounds. Ideas and working hypotheses of the project: 1. To investigate the factors that influence the course of the [4+2]-cycloaddition reaction in isoindoles, including condensed ones, paying special attention to the driving force of the rearrangements discovered by us. 2. To find strategies for approaching new saturated bioisosteres of benzene and piperidine. The key stage in the preparation of such compounds is the photochemical reaction of [2+2]-cycloaddition. A detailed study of the mechanism of this reaction will allow us to selectively obtain target compounds, and in the future, to develop preparative methods for the synthesis of the most promising substances. 3. To comprehensively investigate the new rearrangement that led to the formation of the new representative of KuQuinones synthesized by us for the first time, as well as to study its physicochemical properties in order to expand the range of possible applications within the framework of the concept of sustainable development. 4. To functionalize the 2-oxadiazolylchromanone derivatives obtained by us by the reaction of orbitally controlled cyclization and other compounds that may be interesting for medicinal chemistry, thereby increasing their water solubility and adjusting lipophilicity.
