The highest yield of pyranol (ca. 80%) was reached over Al-MFI-nsh and Al-FER-nsh (only in 30 min) with the optimal acidity and developed mesoposity resulting in high TOF values (ca. 1100 and 2650 h-1, respectively) as well as the highest productivity (up to 46 gprod/gcat.h) reported ever for this reaction. A set of post-synthesized Sn-β zeolites with different Sn content prepared applying a precise tuning of the amount of incorporated Sn without any additional alkaline treatment was investigated as catalysts for the conversion of glucose to methyl lactate – feedstock for synthesis of biodegradable polylactates. The highest yield of methyl lactate (63.5%) was reached with Sn-β-19-20 where close to the stoichiometric (regarding Si/Al) Si/Sn ratio was applied resulting in an elevated concentration of catalytically active Sn-associated Lewis acid sites. An increase in the fraction of silanol groups was found to reduce the yield and selectivity to the desired product being related to the side reactions over defect silanols. The influence of furfural purity, reagent ratio, and temperature on the catalytic activity of calcium oxide in the aldol condensation reaction of furfural with cyclopentanone was revealed. It was shown that the highest yield of the desired product 2-(2-furylmethylidene)cyclopentanone, 57%), was achieved at the furfural/catalyst mass ratio of 10:1 and the cyclopentanone/furfural molar ratio of 15:1 at 130°C. The physicochemical and photocatalytic properties of synthesized semiconductor nanostructures (based on titanium dioxide, MXene, etc.) in hydrogen evolution, dye degradation, etc. were investigated.
