To evaluate the possibility of using modern cytological and molecular genetic methods for musculoskeletal research in preclinical detection, differential diagnosis and monitoring of treatment of occupational pathology for transport and marine workers, which occurs against the background of structural and functional changes in bone tissue , on the basis of which to determine the limits of their application in the medical selection of workers, examination of efficiency and calculation of the risk of pathological conditions that can lead to occupational injuries or other serious consequences for the health of workers or accidents at work.

 It has been determined that predictive genetic testing will play an increasingly important role in the professional selection of seafarers in general, both in terms of medical testing to predict the risk of disease or injury, and testing for non-medical signs that may be important for shipping safety. It has been determined that genetic studies in osteoporosis in seafarers should predict the course of the disease and the risk of fractures before the development of clinical manifestations. It has been established that basic therapy for chronic heart failure in combination with loop diuretics for a long time has a negative effect on the state of bone mineral density and phosphorus-calcium metabolism, which requires timely diagnosis.
